What is Kojic acid?

Kojic acid, also known as Aspergillus acid and kojic acid, is a Skin whitening material melanin-specific inhibitor, which can complexate with copper ions in skin cells, change the three-dimensional structure of tyrosinase and prevent the activation of tyrosinase, to inhibit the formation of melanin. Kojic acid whitening agents have better tyrosinase inhibition than other whitening agents. It does not act on other enzymes in the cell, there is no toxic effect on the cell, while it can also enter the cell matrix, the formation of intercellular glia, play a water retention and increase the role of skin elasticity. At present, it has been added into various cosmetics to make whitening cosmetics for freckles, age spots, pigmentation and acne. Notes 1. Kojic acid is not stable to light, heat and metal ions. Don't add it at high temperature. Control the content of iron and other metal ions in the system.
